Window into the Tempest is the national engagement programme running alongside SJD’s 2025–26 touring production We Caliban, a postcolonial retelling of Shakespeare’s play centring Caliban, island landscapes, and the legacy of colonial expansion.

Window into the Tempest connects professional artists with students, artists and communities through creative workshops that explore the themes, music, and choreographic methods from the main production.

 

It includes three key offers:

● Taster sessions (2 hrs)

● 1-day and ½ day Masterclasses

● 4-day Curtain Raiser Intensives

 

Each programme is delivered by two SJD Engagement artists with a focus on co-creation, task-based work, and Jeyasingh’s distinctive choreographic voice. Content will be shaped during a dedicated studio phase developing material with and from the performing company.
