ONe foot in the dark
Double Bill
The answers we are often looking for are waiting on the other side of discomfort, challenging norms and old stories from the past. ‘One Foot in the Dark’ is an exploration of our known and unknown experiences of belonging, identity, culture and change through text and movement.
It comprises a double bill of a solo ‘The Skeleton is White’ and inter-disciplinary duet ‘Six Degrees from Home’, both honest explorations of two artists from the global majority understanding what it means to navigate through life, questions and unknowns.
With support from: Arts Council England NLPG, West of England Combined Authority, Bath Spa University, Pegasus Theatre, Dancin’ Oxford Festival, Tanglespace, Pomegranate London
The work was made through residencies at ARC Stockton, Bradford Arts Centre, Swindon Dance and Trinity Centre

"A moving, profound and compelling piece. I was left thinking deeply about journeys, home, place and boundaries and my relationship to them. I appreciated the balance between movement and poetry. The push and pull throughout the piece was gut wrenching, and particularly for anyone who has ever felt displaced, It will sit with them."
