six degrees from home
In collaboration with Saili Katebe

"I was left thinking deeply about journeys, home, place and boundaries and my relationship to them "
Six Degrees from Home is an inter-disciplinary duet exploring borders, identity, and connection through movement and poetry.
In a world where we are many things at once, how do we say what we need to, when words and bodies speak different languages? Drawing from their distinct practices, poetry and dance, Saili and Divija step into each other’s forms to navigate themes of migration, miscommunication, and belonging.
The work reflects on what is lost in translation, and what can still be found when we reach across distance, culture, and discipline. Inspired by the idea of six degrees of separation, this is a search for home: not as a single place, but a shared journey, toward understanding, toward one another, toward a sense of return.
