Divija Melally

I am a trained contemporary and South Asian classical dancer, graduated from Bath Spa University, with BA (Hons) Dance, invested in taking movement and art to different spaces through performance, choreography and facilitation.

I have completed a 2-year diploma in Movement Arts and Mixed Media, which focused on ballet, contemporary and martial arts, from Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, India.

My creative practice revolves around exploring the amalgamation of contemporary dance and Bharatanatyam with text and theatre. I am interested in creating works that explore human themes, and strive to offer new perspectives and stories to my audience. I believe that movement is for everyone, and am constantly looking for opportunities to take dance and movement to different spaces, and expand my creative practice.

As a freelance artist, I work as a performer with companies alongside creating my own work and facilitating different groups.
